BOULDER, CO (January 31, 2008) - CEO Challenges is excited to have Zoot Sports as the official uniform of the CEO Ironman and CEO Triathlon Challenge in 2008.
CEO Challenges is the world-leader in sport competitions designed specifically for CEOs and C-suite executives. The program started with 15 CEOs at Ironman USA Lake Placid in 2001, and has grown to the point where the CEO Ironman Challenge is now an official licensed product of the Ironman Corporation, and there will be over 120 CEOs competing at seven events worldwide in 2008. The fastest ten CEOs from these events will have the opportunity to compete at the CEO Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii in October. The winner in Hawaii earns the title of ‘Fittest CEO in the World'!
CEOs participating in each event will be fully outfitted in a top of the line, Zoot exclusive uniform. Designed specifically for the CEO Challenge for easy recognition on course, the CEOs will each receive a tri top, shorts, FLEXwind jacket, and technical T-shirt. Plus, as with all Zoot sponsored athletes, CEO Challenge competitors are eligible for special pricing on Zoot products, including the ULTRA line of performance apparel, WetZoots and their latest innovation, the ULTRA Footwear Collection.
"We are thrilled that Zoot has extended their sponsorship of the CEO Ironman Challenge, and our CEO competitors," stated Ted Kennedy of CEO Challenges. "Each of the CEOs competing in our events is somehow juggling intensive training, with running their businesses, crazy travel schedules, and family commitments. By providing them with the best triathlon gear available, Zoot has given the CEOs one less thing to worry about as they prepare for their races."
Zoot Sports Director of Marketing Eli Carlson adds, "The [CEO Challenge Team] is a group of strong and determined leaders, undeniably, the best at what they do. As a premium brand and leader in our sport, Zoot has adopted the same principles to continue to be the #1 brand in Kona and ultimately, the premier global endurance sports brand. We are delighted to align ourselves with a team of superstars and support them with the most technical and innovative product in the sport."
The kick-off event this year will be CEO Triathlon Challenge Presented by AIG at the Ford California 70.3 on March 29. Eleven CEOs, representing companies with over $2.8 Billion in combined annual revenue, will test their fitness over the challenging course in Oceanside, with 15% of net proceeds going to the Challenged Athletes Foundation charity. The fastest CEO in California will earn a much coveted slot to Hawaii for the CEO Ironman World Championship.
