PRUTZ WINS THE CEO CHALLENGE AT LEADVILLE

Stanley Prutz, CEO and Owner of QDS Systems in Baton Rouge, LA won the CEO Challenge division at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB on Saturday, August 13.   Prutz won a gold belt buckle by finishing in under 9 hours, stopping the clock in 8 hrs 43:43.

Second in the CEO Challenge was Alec Petro, CEO and Managing Partner of Bay Hill Capital Management in Duxbury, MA.   Alec had to contend with two flats over the 100-mile mountain bike course, and finished in 8 hrs 46:40, also earning a gold belt buckle.

Third place in the CEO Challenge was Mark Spreitler, the President of Bemes, Inc in Kirkwood, MO.   Mark finished in 11:49.50, and by finishing in under 12 hours won a silver buckle.   

Fourth place went to Adam Rasmussen, the CFO & COO of Silver Tree Partners in Addison, TX in 11:49.50, who also earned a buckle.

Danny Bubis of Tetram Capital Management in Winnipeg, Manitoba won a belt buckle by finishing in 11:53. 

After mechanical issues Tod Turley of Minatura was forced to abondon the race.

The CEO Challenge competitors were humbled by the extreme event that takes place between 10,000 - 12,000 ft, and included a some huge lung searing climbs, and terrifying descents.   Although most were pleased with the results, a number have expressed interest in coming back in 2012 to get their revenge on the course!
