2012 Race Across America

June 15, 2012 - June 23, 2012

8-PERSON CEO CHALLENGE TEAM TO RACE ACROSS THE USA TO BENEFIT THE CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION!

Let's face it - there is definitely an anti-CEO sentiment today.   CEOs are often portrayed as greedy, selfish people who don't care about anything more than making money.

We at CEO Challenges know that is not true.  The people that compete in our events are very concerned about the well-being of their companies, their employees, their families, and their personal fitness.  They somehow juggle travel, endless meetings, and family and social responsibilities while working hard to improve their own health and the health of their company.

Plus, the vast majority donate sizeable amounts of their income to charities that benefit many different causes.

We wil be utilizing the Race Across America bike race to demonstrate the positive aspects of CEOs, and to raise significant money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) - an organization that supplies wheelchairs and prosthetics to wounded war veterans and others who are missing limbs as a result of birth defects or accidents.

We have set a goal of $50,000 for CAF through the team of CEOs that will ride as hard as they can across the USA from June 16-23, 2012.

Each CEO will have a charity contribution site set up where friends and supporters can pledge money to CAF for each mile ridden across the country.

To ensure our success, the CEO Challenge team will be supported by a 15-passenger van, a pace vehicle, and motor home.   Support includes drivers, pro bike mechanic, massage therapist, and licensed nurse for medical emergencies.

The 8-person team will be broken into two teams of 4 people each.  Each 4-person team will ride for 10 hours at a time, with each person on the team riding hard for 30 mins, then resting while the other 3 members of their team ride for 90 minutes until their next shift.

After their 10-hour shift, the 4-person team will rest / shower / relax and drive up the road (approx. 200 miles) while the other 4-person team is riding their 10 hour shift.   This will repeat for as long as it takes to travel across the USA from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD (3,000 miles - estimate is approx 6 days).

If you have ever dreamed of riding across the USA on a fully supported team to benfit a very worthy charity, then now is your chance!

Each CEO participant will receive significant positive coverage for their company, allowing for potential corporate sponsorship of the entry fee.
