CEO Cycling with George Hincapie, SC

November 6, 2008 - November 9, 2008

George Hincapie was Lance Armstrong's main ‘lieutenant' throughout all seven of Lance's Tour de France victories, cycling together onto the Champs-Élysées with the yellow jersey. CEOs will have the truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of getting to know George in a fun, relaxed atmosphere as he returns from this summer's European Tours.

George will host CEO cyclists on some of his favorite roads around his home in Greenville, SC from November 6-9. He will also host a reception at his home and visit to Hincapie Sports, where he will talk about how his passion for cycling has transferred into this successful business. Plus, CEOs will be treated to a presentation by the owners of America's Team Garmin-Chipotle on the business of developing a professional cycling team, and what it takes to run a team in the Tour de France.

On Saturday, George will host the group at his new luxury cycling village - Pla d'Adet* (named after George's career-highlight '05 Tour stage win in the Pyrenees).

And, since competition is never far from the mind of CEOs, the weekend will conclude with a light-hearted CEO Cycling Challenge up Paris Mountain, with awards to the fastest in each age group.

"I am excited to host the CEO challenge 2008 in my home town of Greenville, SC. I look forward to showing you the roads where I do some of my most important off season miles... roads that I consider to be some of the best training rides in the world.. see you in November!" -- George Hincapie

*Pla d'Adet is laid out across 300 acres north of Greenville, along a popular local ride to the town of Saluda. The village is offering 97 homesites surrounding a 40,000 sq ft Hincapie Performance Training Center, built into the hillside. The goal with the village is to replicate the life of a pro athlete for the everyday person. There will be an indoor 25-meter training pool and four-mile rubberized running track through the property, with specialized multisport coaches available for triathletes. "This is for the guy that says, 'Instead of golf courses I want 500 miles of road around me,'", says Bill West of Pla d'Adet. "This is for guys who have been to Hilton Head and said, 'That's not me. This is me. I'm a cyclist and I want to hang out with cyclists.'"
