2008 CEO Fly Fishing Challenge, WY
October 2, 2008 - October 5, 2008
How do you define Fly Fishing? As a serene; non-taxing experience where success or failure is irrelevant? As a competition with friends and/or the fish? For most anglers it’s a bit of both and for a select few it’s decidedly competitive.
The members of Fly Fishing Team USA invest hundreds of hours each year for the recognition and accomplishment that accompanies participation in the US National and World Championship. There are no cash prizes, tributes in the press, or congratulations from public officials. However, there’s tremendous respect from your peers and the folks who drive the sport forward. Gold, silver and bronze medals, a chance to represent your country in an Olympic style event, and self satisfaction are your reward.
It takes endurance, skill, motivation, and imagination to become a member of Fly Fishing Team USA. Would you like a chance to test yourself and learn from some of the best fly fishermen in the country?
CEO Challenges in combination with Fly Fishing Team USA has formulated a very special and unique competitive program. It’s designed for anglers who are not only interested in fishing but in helping grow the sport and the conservation programs that surround it.
The first scheduled event in the series will be in Cody WY, just outside the gates of the incredible Yellowstone National Park, in early October 2008 for up to 20 CEOs.
The top anglers from this event will be invited to the 2009 World Championship in Scotland as an Associate Member of Fly Fishing Team USA. This means you’ll have a ringside seat and a participating role in this event.
CEO Challenges and Fly Fishing Team USA want to keep this event small and personal. As such, the number of available spots are limited, and registrations will be handled on a first come basis.
What's Included in the Program
Three nights / four days in a deluxe suite with patio at the new Cody Inn - in Cody, WY.
Team USA members will be on hand to offer instruction to CEO anglers. The event will be hosted by CEO Challenges - the world leader in sport competitions for CEOs (hosting CEO Challenge events around the world since 2001).
Over 50% of net proceeds from the event will go to Fly Fishing Team USA to fund their trip to the 2009 World Championships!
The program include all meals, accommodation, apparel, gifts, awards, instruction and a contribution to Fly Fishing Team USA on behalf of each CEO angler. See the Team USA website here.
The tournament portion of the weekend will be supervised by Jay Buchner (read Jay's bio here), using generally accepted international fly fishing tournament rules.
Includes sessions on lakes and rivers, boat rentals, ground transportation, guide fees and tips. Friday morning will be practice and orientation, and Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday will include four rounds of competition. The top anglers will accompany Team USA to the World Fly Fishing Championship in Scotland in 2009!
