CEO Endurance World Championship Kick-off, NYC

Tom Kiely (CEO of TEAM Unlimited / XTERRA) and Ted Kennedy of CEO Challenges will be in NYC on Tues, March 8 at the Forbes Magazine Galleries to host a kick-off reception for the upcoming CEO Endurance World Championship.

The Endurance World Championship is a made-for-tv event that will be hosted at the Four Season Resorts on the private island of Lanai in September, with the goal of crowning the 2011 Fittest CEO!

There has been much speculation about the make-up of the 6 stages that will be contested over the 3-day event, and we will be showing a short video and handing out maps at the reception to explain the various competitions that athletes will find on the island.

We will also use the opportunity of this Kick-off event to introduce, and celebrate, CEOs that 'lead by example' by embracing health and fitness, and what benefits they realize personally, and for their companies, as a result.

The goal is to eliminate the stigma that shareholders would rather see CEOs "working vs. working out".   Which is the total opposite of what they should want - a CEO that is fit and healthy is, quite frankly, a better CEO.   They use the workout time to clear their mind and think about their business, and as a result of fitness they are able to think quicker and have more energy.   Plus, hopefully their employees see the benefits to staying fit and pick up the habit as well.
