Barry Edwards - Creative Presentations (Metarie, LA)
Creative Presentations is a provider of state-of-the-art integrated technical services and audio-video presentation products. They are a multi-award winning company that has established a reputation as one of the top companies in the dynamic LCD industry. The company has over 6,000 clients and reached it's goal of exceeding $10 million in sales by the year 2000, and is now one of the top 100 private companies in New Orleans. Barry started his career as a sales representative in the computer industry, and realized there was a need for using computers as a communication medium for presentations and collaborative group efforts. Barry launched Creative Presentations in 1990, and he handles the day-to-day operations along with his wife, Susan.
Barry did his first sprint triathlon in 2002 on a borrowed bike, and has completed about 5 triathlons a year since (except 2004 when he broke his leg snow skiing and had to have a rod surgically implanted in his leg!). Barry competed in the CEO Challenge in St. Croix in 2007, however injured his toe exiting the swim ramp and finished in 7:02. He is coming back to the CEO Challenge at St. Croix for some "unfinished business."
Barry signed up for the CEO Triathlon Challenge for the fun and challenge of competing against the other CEOs that have similarities in their day-to-day lives. His wife, Susan, has recently become interested in triathlon and will also be competing in St. Croix again this year, partially in memory of losing her mother to cancer, her father to Parkinson disease, and her brother to mental illness.
