Cathal Murphy - Window Warehouse Ireland Ltd (Dublin, Ireland)

Cathal founded Window Warehouse Ireland in 2000, and the company grew from humble beginnings with a turnover of three quarters of a million and a staff of 2 to today where they employ over 50 people and have a turnover of 6 million euro.  Cathal is a hands on director who loves a challenge and is continuously trying to grow the company.

Cathal was always a keen sportsman and had competed in several marathons.  He started in triathlon 4 years ago from Olympic distance to half Ironman. Cathal's dad suffers with Motor Neurone disease and so in 2006 when Cathal decided to compete in Ironman France, he started a fundraising campaign to raise money for the Motor Neurone Association. Cathal completed the Ironman in 15:17 and raised over €59,000 for the Motor Neurone Association.

Cathal competed in Ironman France last year but did not finish the marathon due to severe sunstroke but returned and completed Ironman UK 7 weeks later in a time of 14:02.

Cathal's wife Mary, whom he has been married to for over 26 years has always been his greatest supporter, mentor and friend - no matter what challenge he decides to undertake she is always fully behind him.  They have 3 children: two boys and a girl.  Cathal Fionn (24) is currently studying for his masters degree in university, Conor (22) works with his dad in the family business and Shona (19) works full time in the pharmaceutical industry.

Cathal believes that by taking part in the CEO challenge one has a great opportunity to make new friends and partake in an experience that shows people's ability to push themselves to extraordinary limits. It is also a great means by which to raise funds for charity and this year he is doing it for the Cystic Fibrosis society of Ireland.
