Dan Goese - Marketing Counsel, Inc. (La Jolla, CA)
Dan Goese is the President and Co-Owner of Marketing Counsel (www.marketingcounsel.com). Marketing Counsel provides product-development consulting and services (including market research through Outlook Research) for global, high-tech companies. As President, Dan conducts all client work, and oversees work done by their service contractors.
Dan is a casual bike racer (Cat 4/Masters 50+) and occasional player of many other sports. To date, Dan's toughest cycling challenges were the ride across the country (1998) and the Everest Challenge bike race (2006). In racing, his biggest accomplishment is winning a bronze in state TT championships last year (mixed tandem).
Dan is supported by his girlfriend of 32 years Katie Gallagher, and their son and 2 daughters (and their golden retriever Daisy is family, too.) Dan signed up for the CEO Challenge for "four reasons: 1. Georgie is my cycling hero...he embodies everything that makes a great sportsman and athlete. 2. It supports the Challenged Athletes Foundation, a brilliant organization that holds a triathlon that starts just down the street from my house every year. 3. I think Pla d'Adet is an awesome concept and I'd love to see it. (When is the San Diego County version coming?!) 4. Knowing that I won't want to completely embarrass myself struggling up the hills with George, this will get me out of my office chair to train well in the cycling 'off season.'"
