Errol Kalayci - Keith and Schnars P.A.
Errol Kalayci is C.O.O. and General Counsel for Keith and Schnars, a consulting company with offices located throughout the State of Florida. Ranked among the nation's top engineering firms, Keith and Schnars provides a wide array of services and is home to nearly 300 professionals: engineers; surveyors; planners; environmental scientists; landscape architects; and a whole range of technical and administrative support staff. Since its incorporation in 1972, the firm has played a leading role in the development of Florida's commercial, residential, and transportation infrastructure.
Prior to joining the firm as a Vice President, Mr. Kalayci worked with one of Florida's most prestigious law firms. He also enjoyed a career as a world renowned technical diving instructor, underwater explorer, and dive charter operator. As a diver, Mr. Kalayci set several world records, traveled extensively, and taught underwater explorers throughout Europe and North America to deep dive more safely utilizing tools such as mixed gas, dive propulsion vehicles, and rebreathers.
A lifelong competitive athlete, he ran his first marathon in 2001, a pivotal moment in his sporting life. Three years later he began training for triathlons and his results have steadily improved since that time. Over the course of the last four years, Mr. Kalayci has completed 3 Ironmans, several half Ironmans, and numerous shorter course races. So far, his PR for International Distance is 2 hours and 12 minutes. His major competitive goal for this season is a sub 11-hour full Ironman.
When he is not training and working, Mr. Kalayci is a devoted husband to his childhood sweetheart, Sondra, and a father (and soccer coach) to three beautiful daughters: Ricky, Rose, and Ryan, who were all in attendance at last spring's scorching Ironman Arizona, a race whose difficulties are now the stuff of legend (unlike their father's results, which they've requested he get an official mulligan for this time around.) Although the girls won't be on hand this fall to cheer their dad on, he's still looking forward to racing and to meeting interesting people who share his life balance challenges and thirst for adventure.
