Juan Fernando Conde - CIGNA Health Care (New Canaan, CT)
Juan Fernando Conde is the CIO of CIGNA, one of the nation's premier health services company, with the goal of improving their client's health, well being, and security. Juan Fernando is responsible for the 1800 staff at CIGNA that provide technology services to the internal staff as well as their client, member, and provider communites. CIGNA has approx. 10 million Medical members, 18M Behavioral Care members, and 6M Pharmacy members. Prior to joining CIGNA in February 2007, Juan Fernando worked at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) as the CIO of World Markets where he had global responsibility for the technology solutions for the wholesale banking arm of CIBC.
2008 is Juan Fernando's third season racing 70.3. Although he has qualified for the World Championship for 70.3 twice, and has broken 5:00 hours on numerous occasions, he feels his best performance was at last year's Lake Stevens race where he finished in 5:01 on a hilly course on a hot day. Juan Fernando is supported by his wife and their two girls. His wife was on a Cross Country collegiate national championship team, and therefore understands the level of commitment required to participate as well as the lifestyle associated with individual competitive sports. He signed up for the CEO challenge in order to participate in an Ironman 70.3 with business peers.
