Lynda Neuman - United Merchant Services of California Inc (Los Angeles, CA)
United Merchant Services of California, Inc. (known publicly as UMS Banking), has been providing payment processing services to merchants and financial institutions since 1987. Their corporate headquarters are located in Glendale, California with regional offices in northern California, Texas and Florida. The company provides business owners with the ability to accept various forms of electronic payments, including credit card processing, ACH billing, electronic check conversion, and gift cards. Lynda is a founding Board Member, 50% owner and the CFO for the firm, overseeing finance and IT operations.
Prior to UMS Banking, Lynda was involved in several entrepreneurial endeavors which included ownership of different retail sales businesses. She has been with UMS Banking since 1987.
In 2005, Lynda's husband, fellow CEO Challenge competitor William (Bill) Truax, took her to see the St. Croix triathlon. At the time she literally knew nothing about the sport, but was so impressed with athletes that were older than they were, yet finishing the race. At that point she became inspired to do the race, and they trained themselves, bought bikes, learned how to swim, and increased their running distance. They competed in 2006, and in 2007 they both took part in the CEO Challenge in St. Croix, with Lynda finishing in 7:41 (Bill finished just ahead in 7:16).
Bill and Lynda signed up for the CEO Challenge again because of the comraderie of competing alongside fellow CEOs who have a passion for triathlon, and the new friendships they made in 2007.
