Molex is a 69-year old manufacturer of electronic components, including electrical and fiber optic interconnection products and systems, switches, integrated products and application tooling. The company's annual revenue is $3.3 Billion, they operate 59 plants in 19 countries, and employ 33,000 people. Molex is the second largest connector company in the world in what is a fragmented but highly competitive industry.

 

Martin began his career in 1976 with Molex, and has worked for the company in Europe, the USA, and Asia. Martin was appointed Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Molex Inc. on July 1, 2005.

 

Martin has completed 13 marathons including Chicago, Boston and Hong Kong, and also regularly competes in 5K and 10K races. Martin and his wife are originally from England and they have 2 children - one graduated from U of Denver, the other is a Junior at Boston College. He decided to enter the CEO Marathon Challenge as a way to make the race 'an even bigger challenge'!
