Michael (Mike) Byam - Terryberry Co, Grand Rapids, MI
Terryberry works with companies of all sizes to develop, implement and manage employee recognition and awards programs, and to motivate and reward employees. The company is located in Grand Rapids, MI and has sales offices throughout North America that support 25,000 customers. Mike spends the majority of his time interacting with clients, employees and salespeople understanding their needs and finding ways to continue to grow the company.
This requires frequent travel and presentations to HR groups about how to motivate employees. Mike started his career with Terryberry after college and opened up their sales office in Kansas City. After five years he moved to the Grand Rapids head office and into a leaderhship role.
Mike has been involved in triathlon since 1998, and has also completed a number of marathons. In college he played Division III football, and now coaches his son's football team and plays soccer with his daughters. He completed Ironman Australia in 1998 in 11:16, and has a goal of completing one Ironman race in each decade of his life. Also, Terryberry recently launched a welllness program and Mike wants to make sure he is leading by example!
He is supported by a very understanding wife (Lisa) and has three children - ages 11, 7, and 3.
