Scott Herkelman - BFG Technologies (Chicago, IL)
Scott Herkelman is the President and Founder of BFG Technologies, a privately held U.S. based supplier of premium 3D video cards based on award-winning NVIDIA graphics technology, the world's first physics add-in computer cards from AGEIA as well as other computer enthusiast products. BFG Tech's award-winning brand of 3D video cards are available in Europe, Canada and in the U.S. at major retail and e-tail locations, and also within premium Falcon Northwest computer gaming systems to name a few. Scott started BFG Tech out of his house in August of 2002. Five years later the company has 31 full-time employees and revenues over $120 million a year, its products are sold in more than 25,000 retail locations worldwide in over 15 different countries. Scott is also part-owner of a technical support company based out of Aurora, Illinois called Support-Techs. Support-Techs employs over 80 different technicians with annual revenues just over $3 million conducting technical support for its client's end-user base. Before starting up BFG Tech and purchasing Support-Techs, Scott was a Sr. Buyer at Best Buy's corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, MN for their computer components team and had worked at the Best Buy headquarters for approximately five years.
Scott has been active in the sport of triathlons for the past three years. Competing mostly in Olympic distances, Scott's best finish was in the 2004 Lake Zurich Olympic distance triathlon finishing in 2 hours 33 minutes.
Scott is married to Gina who is also very active in triathlons and training with him at home and on the road. The CEO Challenge event will be Scott's first Ironman attempt and he is looking forward to meeting all of the other overachievers and experiencing a fantastic course.
