Shayne Macherowski - Evergreen L.A.N.D. (Steamboat Springs, CO)
Shayne Macherowski is the Owner of Evergreen L.A.N.D., a land acquisition and development company that develops and sells high end resort properties. Projects vary in scope from on mountain triplexes to high end ranch property or single family homes. Prior to founding Evergreen, Shayne was an independent distributor in Florida for a cardiac device company from 1992 to 2004. When he sold that business he started to develop some of the real estate he had been acquiring over time and found that he enjoyed that very much. He is responsible for coordinating everything from hiring general contractors, engineers and architects to seeking out and acquiring new properties for future development while deciding which property to developnext.
Shayne started in triathlon in 2003 and was hooked right away. Shayne completed Ironman New Zealand in his first year as a triathlete and has subsequently completed several 1/2 Ironman Distance events and Ironman Florida in 2004 with a PR of 10:56. Prior to racing triathlons, Shayne never swam, ran or rode a bike; his longest run ever was 3 miles in college but now he's hooked for life.
After tearing his ACL, Meniscus and several collateral ligaments and had a total knee reconstruction in May 2007, he is looking forward to returning for his "anniversary race" in St. Croix. Shayne signed up for CEO Challenge because "I think I will enjoy meeting creative, hard working and interesting people in a fun environment like a triathlon in St. Croix. Once we take off our CEO, owner or managing partner hats and we put on our race gear, we all go from being Chiefs to being Indians for 5 or 6 hours. It's always been a humbling experience to participate in these long distance races and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in St. Croix that has my shared passion for triathlon and business. It's hard to find that type of camaraderie anywhere else and in such a wonderful environment."
