Tom McFarland - C&D Zodiac
C&D Zodiac, Inc. designs and manufactures aircraft interiors for both commercial and business jet aircraft. The company has close to 5,000 employees headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA with sixteen (16) worldwide divisions. Facilities are located near the airframe manufactures in Seattle (Boeing), Toulouse (Airbus), Montreal (Bombardier) and Brazil (Embraer). Over 1,000 employees now work in our low cost country facilities in Mexico and Brazil. CDZ designs and manufactures everything from floor-to-floor in the airplane including seats, overhead bins, galleys, lavatories, etc.
Tom's career with C&D began in 1986 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in mechanical engineering. During his 21 year tenure at C&D, Mr. McFarland has held increasing levels of responsibility ranging from design, program management, marketing/sales to his present position as CEO/President. Until 2005, CDZ was privately held and grew from a couple hundred employees and several million in sales when Tom started in '86 to over 4,000 and over $400M when the company was purchased by Zodiac, Inc. of France. Tom has stayed on through the transition where C&D Zodiac is the largest division ($600M) within the Zodiac's $3B organization.
