Vinnie Duncan - Duncan and Company, Ltd (Auckland, New Zealand)
Vinnie Duncan is co-owner, with husband Andrew, of Duncan & Co Ltd, (DCL) a Venison Marketing and Exporting Company based in Auckland, New Zealand. A home based business, established in 1989, DCL is the largest exporter of Farmed Venison to the USA, with an annual turnover of USD 32 million, and 45 employees. Vinnie's experience is primarily in sales and operations, although she is currently taking a break from day to day involvement as she recovers from aggressive breast cancer.
A mother of 7 children aged 7 - 18, Vinnie has competed in numerous triathlons and marathons, and in March 2008 completed her first Ironman (Taupo NZ) in a time of 12.53. Vinnie's cancer diagnosis in 2004 and subsequent extensive treatment meant a considerable delay in her aim of competing in Ironman, although her fitness regime and training programme are now an integral part of her long term goal of complete recovery. Competing in Europe with the CEO challenge offers Vinnie and Andrew the ideal formula of being able to combine the challenges of Ironman with business commitments in Europe.
